Mavericks, Inc., the Japanese developer behind the video generation AI NoLang and other advanced AI products, has published the latest issue of Mavericks AI News, a generative AI newsletter with more than 85,000 subscribers that ranks among the largest of its kind in Japan1. The issue was sent on February 9, 2026.
This issue covers the slide creation and editing workflow enabled by Claude in PowerPoint, released by Anthropic; the thinking behind Claude Opus 4.6 and Plugins, the extensions for non-developers announced around the same time; and what the AI agent social network moltbook actually is and what it suggests. The commentary comes from an engineering team working daily at the front line of AI product development, and it looks past the surface to what AI adoption really means in practice.
Mavericks AI News: field knowledge from the team behind the video generation AI NoLang
Mavericks, Inc. is a Japanese startup that builds and operates its own generative AI product, NoLang. In roughly a year and a half of operation, registered users have passed 150,000, and the product is now deployed at more than 60 companies, keeping the team at the front line of AI-driven product development.
Technology in the generative AI field moves extremely fast, and it remains hard to judge what will hold real value. Because Mavericks operates a product itself, it can draw on first-hand information and a practitioner’s feel for the field, and it offers a perspective that does not drift with surface-level trends.
Mavericks AI News is built on the knowledge accumulated at that development front line. It goes out every Monday and carries only information selected for real practical use. The aim is to give business people and developers working on AI adoption enough implementation-level explanation and insight to decide their next action.

Feature 1: What everyone was waiting for — call Claude directly inside PowerPoint
Anthropic has released Claude in PowerPoint, an add-in that lets users call Claude from the PowerPoint sidebar. Its defining feature is that it does more than generate new slides from text instructions: wording fixes and structural changes to existing slides can also be made in natural language.

Generation that follows a template still has open questions around stability and reproducibility, while the experience of simple replacements and partial edits is steadily improving. Given how far this has come in a year, AI is entering a phase where it is genuinely built into the working process of creating slides. The issue lays out the key points of the five main features and explains what to watch for when working with templates.
Feature 2: Claude Opus 4.6 arrives as Anthropic keeps strengthening tools for non-developers
Around the same time as Claude in PowerPoint, Anthropic announced a new model, Claude Opus 4.6. Alongside it, the company rolled out Plugins for 11 areas including sales, marketing, legal and finance, making it easier for non-engineers to bring their own work procedures into the tool.

Plugins document the task procedures of a given area so they can be reused, which lowers the cost of trial and error when adopting AI. Because the design lets each company extend the tool while keeping its own differences, it should also connect well to how teams actually work. The issue walks through concrete examples of command design and considers how much lower the implementation barrier for agents becomes.
Feature 3: The AI agent social network moltbook went viral — but what was really going on
moltbook, a social network built for AI agents, drew worldwide attention as a place where AIs post and interact autonomously. Press coverage has since pointed to problems with impersonated posts and with how many agents are actually active, and the overheated assessment is being revised.

What matters in all this is the practical agent infrastructure used behind moltbook, such as OpenClaw, which offers LLM selection, persona settings and integration with external applications. Looking past the surface of the hype at the design requirements for connecting agents to everyday work is where the next implementation opportunity becomes visible. The issue sets out a realistic basis for judging moltbook and organizes the possibilities and risks that OpenClaw points to.
Looking ahead
As a product-led generative AI startup, Mavericks, Inc. considers it an important part of its mission to return the knowledge gained from its own advanced product development to society. Through Mavericks AI News, the company will continue to publish reliable, practical information for every business person, developer and digital transformation lead working to open up the AI era.
