Mavericks Adds Construction Industry Sample Slides to NoLang Slide Generation

Mavericks, Inc., the Japan-based provider of the video generation AI NoLang, has added new sample slides for the construction industry to NoLang’s Slide Generation feature. Users upload existing material such as construction record PDFs, safety standards documents and technical documents, and NoLang automatically produces slides with diagrams and charts, or a narrated video. The samples cover five scenarios: introducing past projects, technical proposals for bids, safety training, reporting management figures, and a proposal format shared across all branches. With the construction workforce shrinking and a cap on overtime hours now in force, the samples are intended to reduce the effort that bids, safety training and management reporting demand from site teams.

Bids, safety training and management reports pile up: the challenges facing a short-staffed construction industry

Construction companies, homebuilders and equipment contractors prepare documents constantly. Every bid needs a technical proposal, every site needs safety training material, and every month closes with a management report built around charts. At the same time, the number of people available to do that work keeps falling, so a smaller team carries the same document workload.

The first problem is how much time documents take. A 2021 survey of 400 sales and sales planning staff found that “creating documents” was the most time-consuming task at 30.5%, accounting for 619 hours per person per year, or roughly 1.67 million yen in labor cost¹. On top of that, the cap on overtime hours (45 hours per month and 360 hours per year, with penalties for breaches) has applied to construction since April 2024, which makes efficient preparation of bid and safety training material more urgent². Safety training cannot be scaled back to save time. Construction accounted for 232 work-related deaths in 2024, up 4.0% year on year and about 31% of the total across all industries, the highest of any sector, so site-by-site training material remains essential³.

The workforce that would absorb this document work is under growing pressure. According to the 2025 edition of the White Paper on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, construction employed 4.77 million people in 2024, about 2 million fewer than at the 1997 peak of 6.85 million⁴. Workers aged 55 and over make up 36.7% of the total, while those aged 29 and under account for only 11.7%, an older profile than the average across all industries⁴. The number of skilled construction workers fell from 4.64 million in 1997 to 3.03 million in 2024, or 65.3% of the peak, and most of the skilled workers aged 60 and over, roughly a quarter of the total, are expected to retire within ten years⁴.

To respond to these conditions, NoLang has added sample slides for the construction industry to its Slide Generation feature.
