Mavericks, Inc., the Japanese company behind the video generation AI “NoLang,” has released a new feature that turns an existing video or audio file into a video with translated on-screen captions, background music and sound effects. Upload the file, and the AI handles the translation automatically. The feature can turn Japanese footage or audio into a video with English captions, and equally turn an English news audio clip into a video with Japanese captions. It covers 18 languages in total, including Chinese, Spanish and French as well as Japanese and English. The result is direct support for global activity by companies and individuals: overseas IR communication, influencers and creators expanding abroad, and training for foreign employees inside a company.

The internet and social media have made cross-border communication routine, yet the language barrier still causes significant lost opportunity. As the domestic market matures, companies need to open sales channels overseas and communicate smoothly with people from diverse backgrounds. Delivering information in the recipient’s own language means producing multilingual video content and advertising, and that has become an urgent requirement for any company or creator that wants to stay competitive.
Until now, taking an existing Japanese video to an international audience meant translating it first, then editing the translated text into the timeline as captions. That work typically cost tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of yen per video when outsourced, with a lead time of several days to several weeks. For many companies it was the bottleneck in taking a business or product global.
The new feature in NoLang addresses that problem. Upload a video file such as MP41 or an audio file such as MP32, specify the language you want (English, for example), and the AI runs the entire process automatically.
Only three steps
The AI handles speech recognition and transcription, translation into the target language3, caption placement, and the selection of background music and sound effects. Users only need the following steps to produce a multilingual video.
- Upload the file: Upload a video or audio file and first create a “Japanese video” in NoLang, meaning a video captioned in the original language. If you upload a file with English audio, this first video is in English.
- Choose the conversion: On the viewing screen of the created video, select the “Change aspect ratio / Convert language” button and choose the language you want.
- Generate: After selecting the language, press the generate button, and a video with captions in that language is produced automatically.
Uploading a file is therefore all it takes to obtain a high-quality multilingual video in which both translation and editing are already complete.

For example, a video in which the president of a Japanese head office explains management policy in Japanese can be converted immediately into a version captioned in English or a local language and shared with staff at overseas branches. Product introduction videos and tourism promotion videos can likewise be recomposed with English or Chinese captions and posted on social media, reaching potential customers worldwide with no additional shooting cost, creating new business opportunities and contributing to revenue.
Use cases
The feature reduces the cost of overseas expansion and creates business opportunities in any situation that requires communication across a language barrier.
1. IR and public relations (IR, corporate planning and PR teams)
Situation: Publishing earnings briefings and CEO message videos for international audiences
Benefit: Video communication aimed at overseas investors and branches used to lose its timeliness because translation and caption editing took so long. With this feature, footage of a Japanese-language earnings briefing can be published the same day as a video with captions in English, Chinese or another language. A lag that took several days through an outside vendor shrinks to a few minutes or tens of minutes. Keeping information current, and presenting results and company strengths through captions in the viewer’s familiar native language, helps build trust with overseas stakeholders.
2. Content creators and marketing (YouTubers and podcasters)
Situation: Taking previously posted videos on YouTube or TikTok, and podcast audio, to international audiences
Benefit: Simply upload an existing video produced in Japanese, or audio-only podcast data, and the video can easily be published for audiences in the West or elsewhere in Asia. There is no need to shoot or record anything new: existing assets alone expand a business’s target market to a global scale. Even when view counts in Japan have plateaued and reach cannot be pushed any further, changing the caption language opens access to a market of billions of people. At zero additional production cost, past video and audio assets can become a new source of revenue.
3. Internal operations and DX (HR, production sites and training teams)
Situation: Creating manuals and training videos for foreign employees
Benefit: Film an experienced employee explaining a task in Japanese on site, run it through this feature, and the result is a training video captioned in Vietnamese, English or another language. That removes the considerable time and cost of running training through an interpreter and of producing multilingual manuals. Video manuals, said to achieve roughly nine times the retention of text, prevent misunderstandings and mistakes and greatly improve how well the material sticks. Because a video can be reused once it is made, the cost of on-site staff teaching foreign employees each time is reduced. Foreign staff become productive sooner and work quality becomes more consistent.
Outlook
With this multilingual translation feature as a starting point, Mavericks, Inc. is accelerating development aimed at removing the language barrier entirely through technology. NoLang will continue as a global platform that delivers every kind of information asset, whether text, audio or video, in the form that communicates best across borders and languages, supporting corporate DX and a shift in how organizations communicate worldwide.
