Key takeaways

  1. Mavericks has released five new sample slides for SaaS and product companies in the Slide Generation feature of the AI video generation service NoLang.
  2. Uploading a PDF, a release note or past data produces a slide deck with the key points organized in about 30 seconds, and a video in about 60 seconds.
  3. The templates are built for everyday work in field sales, inside sales, marketing and alliances, and can be used as they are.
  4. The set addresses sales problems at SaaS and product companies, such as improving proposal accuracy per meeting and reproducing what already wins deals.
  5. It also covers IR and shareholder disclosure, including AI trend reports, product roadmaps and earnings highlights.

Mavericks, Inc., the Japanese company behind the AI video generation service NoLang, has released a new set of sample slides for SaaS and product companies in the Slide Generation feature of NoLang. Five common SaaS workloads are now available as templates, covering service overviews, sales decks, feature update announcements and IR materials. Uploading a release note or an existing proposal is enough to generate a slide deck, or a video, with the key points already organized. The templates are intended to reduce the workload of preparing materials in sales, marketing and IR teams, and to make content production more efficient when resources are limited.

Preparing materials takes 30% of sales time: a shared burden at SaaS companies

SaaS and IT companies have to produce a wide range of materials on a continuous basis: sales decks, marketing collateral, update announcements and more. Many companies face this burden of creating documents and videos, and it takes a significant share of the working day.

The load on sales teams is the most severe. A 2021 survey of 400 sales and sales-planning professionals found that “preparing materials” was the single most time-consuming task at 30.5%, more than 10 points ahead of the second item, “travel” (19.3%)1. More than half of the respondents said they spend over 50% of their total working hours preparing materials, which the survey puts at 619 hours per person per year, or roughly 1.67 million yen in labor cost1. HubSpot’s “2024 Survey on Sales in Japan” likewise found that 33.09% of working hours go to meeting preparation and follow-up, such as producing materials and analysis, and that sales representatives want 25 more minutes a day in front of customers2. Time that should go to customers keeps being absorbed by back-office document work.

Marketing teams face a second problem: a shortage of resources for content production. A 2023 survey of 101 content marketers at B2B companies named “lack of in-house skills for content production” (55.4%) and “lack of internal resources” (28.7%) as the main operational challenges3. At SaaS companies, a small marketing team often handles ad operations, article writing and webinar planning at once, leaving no capacity for sales decks or white papers.

While staffing stays tight, the format companies are expected to publish in is shifting to video. According to research by CyberAgent, Japan’s video advertising market reached 724.9 billion yen in 2024, 115.9% of the previous year, and is projected to reach 1.1471 trillion yen in 20284. Wyzowl’s 2023 survey found that 91% of companies outside Japan use video in their marketing, and 87% said video has a positive effect on sales5. Proox’s “2024 Survey on B2B Video Production” reported high expectations for video, with “building awareness” at 66.5% and “improving understanding” at 54.3%, while about 70% of production involves outsourcing, and planning, shooting and editing each add cost and hours6. The higher the expectations for video content, the clearer the difficulty of producing it in-house with a limited team.

For a SaaS company, writing an update announcement for every new feature, tailoring a sales deck to each prospect’s industry and publishing timely commentary on industry news are routine tasks. Handling this kind of frequent, highly varied document work with limited resources is a burden shared across many SaaS and IT companies.

Sample slides that cover everything from document creation to video output

The Slide Generation feature of NoLang builds slides with diagrams, charts and headings from source material such as text or PDFs, and can then export the result as a narrated video. Everything from creating the slides to turning them into a video happens in one service, so teams no longer need separate document and video tools and no longer need to learn both.

Slides are generated from release notes or industry information, and the same material can be turned into a video.

The new sample slides for SaaS and product companies have been added to this feature. Selecting a sample slide as a template gives an immediate starting point with a design and structure that fits the intended use. To announce a new feature, for example, users select the matching sample slide and upload the release note; NoLang then generates slides that lay out the before/after and how the feature is used.

High-quality slides and videos can be produced without specialist design skills, which lightens the material-preparation workload in sales, marketing and IR teams.

From sales meetings to IR: five use cases for SaaS workflows

Here are five representative use cases from the new sample slides for SaaS and product companies. Each addresses a document-preparation need that comes up frequently in the sales, marketing and IR work of SaaS and IT companies.

Sample slides showing the upload-to-video automation flow and use cases across sales and marketing phases

The first is a service overview deck. This sample converts a white paper of more than 40 pages, or an existing proposal, into roughly 10 slides of key points. It answers the problem of needing service overview material for every meeting and webinar without being able to prepare it in time: a white paper PDF or an existing proposal can be used as source material as it is, and an organized deck is ready immediately. Sales representatives can prepare service overview material themselves, at the moment they need it, without losing the opportunity.

The second is a sales deck adapted per customer. A base structure of challenges, solution, case studies and pricing can be developed to match the industry and challenges of each prospect. It answers the problem of wanting a customer-specific sales deck for every meeting while customizing the base slides each time takes effort: case study PDFs and help center content can be used as source material to produce customized decks efficiently. Because the message can be optimized for the characteristics of an industry and the customer’s challenges, it supports better proposal accuracy and higher close rates.

Sample slides introducing the Insight Match feature update that automates proposal design for customers

The third is a feature update announcement. This sample generates slides that present the before/after of a new feature and how to use it in visual form. It answers the problem of update announcements being delayed because turning a release note into slides takes time: release notes and help center content can be used as source material to produce user-facing update slides quickly. Delivering the value of a new feature at the same time as the release supports higher feature adoption and steadier product usage.

The fourth is a news and trend commentary deck. This sample turns the latest industry news and trends into slides immediately. It answers the problem of losing timeliness because a small marketing team cannot keep up with slide production: the URL or PDF of a news article can be used as source material and a commentary deck is ready right away. Being able to publish trend commentary immediately strengthens a company’s presence and perceived expertise in its industry.

Sample IR slides for shareholders showing FY2025 highlights and the Insight Match rollout roadmap

The fifth is an IR and earnings presentation deck. This sample converts a summary of financial reports into slides with charts and diagrams. It answers the problem of the effort involved in building separate decks for shareholders, analysts and internal audiences: IR PDFs and financial reports can be used as source material to produce a version optimized for each audience efficiently. Developing audience-specific decks from the same earnings data in a short time reduces the load on IR staff while keeping disclosure tailored to each stakeholder.

What comes next

The new sample slides for SaaS and product companies cover representative use cases selected from interviews with SaaS and IT companies. Mavericks plans to keep reflecting feedback from the field and to expand the range of sample slides step by step.

NoLang will continue to strengthen its features so that companies spend less effort on preparing materials and producing videos, and can publish content more efficiently.
